Through the New Testament in a Year

Week 28: Acts 13-16:40

Song: "Shall I Crucify My Savior"

Young Children:

1. Talk about the word "hope" with your child. Explain that hope means

to look forward to something. Give some examples of hope that your child can relate to such as hoping to go outside and swim on a hot day. Mention to your child how much they look forward to an activity such as this. Now talk about the hope of heaven.

2. Jesus did a wonderful thing for us. Explain to your child each day this week that Jesus died on the cross so that we could have the chance of erasing all the wrong things we do.

Young Men and Women/Adults:

1. What was the message of hope in Acts 13:15?

2. Our sins can be forgiven because of what Jesus did. What New Testament scriptures outline what Jesus did? (hint: one place is in Ephesians, another in I Cor.)

3. Why did Paul and Barnabas turn to non-Jews in delivering the Good News? Acts 13:45 How did the non-Jews accept it?

4. What did God show by giving the Holy Spirit to the non-Jews? Acts 15:8

For this week:

When you have personal disappointments, accept them uncomplainingly.

"In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. Prov. 14:26

There's a lot of comfort in the thought
That sorrow, grief, and woe
Are sent into our lives sometimes
To help our souls to grow.
